The Black Hills Center for Equality Board of Directors are saddened by the events in Orlando, Florida. As this post is written we know we have lost 50 of our brothers and sisters in the shooting at the Pulse nightclub. We extend our sympathy to those who lost loved ones We send our prayers for the healing for those that are injured and those that survived the shooting.
Our hearts are breaking especially as we celebrate Pride. We are so aware of the hatred that exists in other countries and even here in the United States. That hatred says we are second class citizens or less and we deserve punishment or death. As a community, we cannot loose our belief that love wins the day. As tough as this time is we need to help with the healing and continue reach out to change hearts and minds.
